SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, manages the day-to-day operations and supervision of program personnel for the DDS Group Supported Employment Program (GSE).  Responsible for implementing and monitoring agency policies and procedures to achieve program outcomes.  Works in conjunction with the Senior Program Manager to ensure appropriate client service delivery and, with the Director of Support Services and Employment Development to ensure GSE staff follow-through with site employers’ expectations/ contractual obligations.  Provides input to the program budget development process as needed and manages services within budget guidelines.  Acts as a liaison with stakeholders to promote Kuhn in a positive manner within the community. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Job Coaches

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:  This position requires typical work operations and responsibilities as to but not limited to:

  1. 1.                  Treat all program participants with respect and dignity in all interactions.         
  2. 2.                  Responsible for the day-to-day operation of GSE program in compliance with all policies, rules, regulations and standards.
  3. 3.                  Meet with GSE program personnel to provide supervisory support on an ongoing basis and for disciplinary action when needed.  Document personnel actions and staff performance evaluations in accordance with Kuhn policies. 
  4. 4.                  Work with program staff to insure quality services through implementation of individualized program and/ or behavioral plans, proper data collection and report writing. 
  5. 5.                  Establish and maintain effective communication with all Kuhn staff and management.
  6. 6.                  Develop, implement and monitor Outcome Measures for the GSE program in accordance with best practices and DDS requirements, as well as, other stakeholder requirements. 
  7. 7.                  Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  8. 8.                  Responsible for developing and implementing staff site coverage schedules.
  9. 9.                  Coordinate appropriate work sites and activities in conjunction with each client’s individualized program plan.
  10. 10.              Responsible for developing and implementing appropriate down time activities when paid work is not available.
  11. 11.              Assist in the maintenance of current, confidential record keeping systems for client information.
  12. 12.              Works in conjunction with the Senior Program Manager to ensure appropriate client service delivery and, with the Director of Support Services and Employment Development to ensure GSE staff follow through with site employers’ expectations/ contractual obligations.

  1. 13.              Provides input to the program budget development process as needed and manages services within budget guidelines. 
  2. 14.              Participate in DDS program quality monitoring/ improvement meetings and reviews as appropriate.
  3. 15.              Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of program staff and client payroll records. 
  4. 16.              Monitor for a safe physical environment all staff and clients.
  5. 17.              Assume direct care service and transportation duties as required.
  6. 18.              Maintain exceptional attendance and timeliness on an ongoing basis.
  7. 19.              Other duties as required.

 

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. 1.                  Responsible for performing work duties in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety procedures and providing input into enhancing overall agency safety.   
  2. 2.                  Works in coordination with the program management team to facilitate client intake and client movement in accordance with Kuhn policies and procedures.
  3. 3.                  Work cooperatively with other management and administrative staff to develop and implement appropriate training activities.
  4. 4.                  Works with and assists others as required. 
  5. 5.                  Performs additional duties at the request of the management.
  6. 6.                  Represent Kuhn in a professional manner and work cooperatively with stakeholders to ensure that the mission of Kuhn Employment Opportunities is achieved.
  7. 7.                  Participate in relevant seminars/ conferences; keep abreast of current trends in business and rehabilitation. Attend trade association and other pertinent meetings.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BA or BS in Human Services or related field plus minimum of 3 years vocational program experience.   
  2. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  3. Effective communication skills and proven ability to work as a team member.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  5. Obtain and/or maintain CPR and PMT certification/ First Aid Training.
  6. Valid Connecticut drivers license with Public Passenger endorsement.
  7. Automobile insurance in force per Kuhn’s specifications when using personal vehicle for work related purposes.
  8. Possesses basic computer skills.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform all physical aspects of essential duties, perform PMT, implement behavior plans which             require physical assists and emergency restraints.
