TITLE:                      Manager of Supported Employment Program at Rushford

DEPT:                        Supported Employment (Rushford) 

REPORTS TO:         Senior Program Manager 

STATUS:                   Exempt 

AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT: Employment at Kuhn Employment Opportunities is at will. Responsible for developing and implementing quality supported employment services for individuals with severe and prolonged mental illness, as well as, overall supervision of program personnel, development of job placements, coordination with other support services and other day to day program operations. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:   Employment Specialists and Support Specialist 


Able to fulfill the duties of the Employment Specialist and requires such typical work operations and responsibilities as, but not limited to:

 1.         Recruit, manage and develop program staff insuring quality service for program participants. 

2.         Assure advocacy of all program participants and insure consumer rights, as well as, monitor coordination of           services.

 3.         Process and schedule admission of referrals in compliance with Rushford procedures and guidelines; perform liaison work with referral programs. 

4.         Assure appropriate job development, job placement and job maintenance activities. 

5.         Maintain Outcome Measurement Systems practices and procedures in accordance with CARF, DMHAS and Kuhn standards. 

6.         Monitor for a safe physical environment for staff and program participants. 

7.         Develop and maintain budgets and management of program operations within the budget  guidelines. 

8.         Report to Rushford and other funding sources as required, as well as, to the Senior Program Manager.


 1.         The person holding this position will also fulfil all the NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES of the Employment Specialists and may be required to participate in a variety of meetings. 

2.         Works with and assists others as required.  Performs additional duties at the request of the management. 

3.         Responsible for performing work duties in a safe manner, adhering to all established  safety procedures and providing input into enhancing overall company safety. 

4.         Attends job relevant seminars/conferences. 


1.         BA Degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of  vocational experience with a psychiatrically disabled population. 

2.         Strong communication and computer skills as well as experience in supervision of others is preferred. 

3.         Obtain and/or maintain CPR certification/First Aid Training. 

4.         Valid Connecticut driver’s license. 

5.         Available means of transportation. 

6.         Automobile insurance in force per Kuhn’s specifications when using personal vehicle for work related purposes. 

7.         Possesses basic computer skills. 


Ability to perform all physical aspects of essential duties; ability to operate business equipment including computers.
