POSITION: Accounting Specialist

SUMMARY: The Accounting Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, with a primary focus on processing compensation for employees and program participants through ADP’s automated system. This position also offers the opportunity to assist with additional accounting and administrative functions, providing room to learn new skills and take on new challenges within the department.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
• Process payroll through ADP and manage related functions.
• Assist Human Resources with PTO tracking and employee benefits.
• Post journal entries into QuickBooks.
• Support the CFO and other accounting staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate, organized financial and administrative files.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of accounting or finance experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.
• Understanding of finance, accounting principles, and GAAP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation with active insurance, per Kuhn’s specifications, when using a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
SALARY RANGE: $40,000–$45,000 per year for a 40‑hour workweek (commensurate with experience).
